The Glories of Mary is St. Alphonsus de Liguori’s work on devotion to the Mother of God. He reflects on the Salve Regina, her principal feasts, her sorrows and her virtues to demonstrate how Mary was truly “blessed among women.”

St. Alphonsus de Liguori (1696-1787) was born to a noble Italian family and practised law before joining the priesthood. He wrote many works on the spiritual life and founded the Congregation of the Holy Redeemer. He was canonized in 1839 and proclaimed a Doctor of the Church in 1871.
